Students learned how to sew and bind their own sketchbooks or journals. They used collage techniques to customize and personalize the covers. These books will be used for writing, drawing, etc. This is in addition to the "hidden room" style books and origami style books they created earlier in the school year.
Students explored the art of reusing for this project. In celebration of Earth Day, students explored creating non-textile fashion. Materials included recyclables such as newspaper, plastic, styrofoam, and more. Students viewed examples from the hit reality show Project Runway and the work of fashion designers who studied at Massachusetts College of Art and Design. See below!
From belts, to baseball caps, shirts and glasses, students thought "outside of the box" and showed great creativity. |
